Yoga is a fast paced lifestyle choice these days. Many urban Indians are opting for more holistic and natural methods to achieve better health, as opposed to medicines It’s almost as if people’s entire point of view has changed from a curative approach towards health, to a preventive one. Yes, its a struggle to cleanse the mind and body so prevalent in today’s times, with chemicals being used in every agricultural activity. And so many times, we keep trying so hard, but achieve very little. This is exactly where ancient science shines. I have been fortunate to learn under some of the best masters of the world, from Portugal to the foothills of the Himalayas. Every teacher has enriched my understanding of life and of myself, and I have slowly shifted from Yoga to Yog. Every yogic practice emphasises the final destination - “aatma gyan“, knowledge of the Self or Self realization. And each person choose practices with which they connect the most. And here I bring to you a very ancient but lesser known yogic practice - Shaktipaat. I have been a student of Shaktipaat for almost 10 years now and believe in all it’s benefits. Shaktipaat is an in-out approach. It directly works on your inner-most layers, of the body’s gross and subtler dimensions. It aims at elevating one’s energy levels to achieve a state of shoonya-ta (zero-ness). With time, the elevated state becomes a part of you, in all that you do. Through yogasanas and pranayama, I attempt to bring a sensitization and shift, for greater awareness of the experiences WITHIN. These sessions are for curious-mided, yoga enthusiasts and those who have searched everywhere but found no satisfactory answers. If you are keen to explore Yog, and it’s deeper limbs (Pratyahaar, Dhaarana, Dhyaan and Samaadhi), then your physical body is the starting point and the journey is a marathon. I specialise in the treatment of thyroid issues, cervical spondilosis, and lower back pain.

It depends on the serverity of the health concern and the demand of time. I work on a per class fee model that is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Working on very simple asanas with a lot of focus on breathing is the first step. And the difficulty level increases as the student/ client gains confidence through his/her work. Initially I urge the student/client to put 80% trust in me and 20% with themselves becasue they may/ may not have yogic experience before. The scales will slowly shift in their favour as months progress.

I have learnt Hath Yog with many international organisations such as Art of Living and Patanjali's Yog Kendra. Am blessed to receive deep knowledge of Kundalini Yog & Shaktipaat, masters who live deep in the Himalayas. My learning of Vinyasa began during my days as a performing artist and continues to grow still. And keeping Shaktipaat process at the forefront, I combine the other yogic forms, to suit client needs and preferences.

My grandfahter was a Yogic practioner and this has never been an alien concept to me.

I have worked with senior citizens with severe osteoporosis, professionals working in MNCs, college students, medical professionals, engineering students, group sessions of family members whose ages are all varied.

One medical proessional suffering from hypothyroidism reduced her TSH count from 11 points to 3.5 (approx figures) in a matter of 45 days with thrice a week classes of 1 hour each. It was a wonderful achievement for both of us.

Be clear of what you are looking for when searching for a Yog trainer - to help with physical issues and/or emotional issues. Yog trainers don't perform miracles. It is self practice and self discipline. Your sincerity towards your practice will reap YOU rewards. And please don't bargain with trainers. They have spent their time, money and energy to develop skills to be able to teach. Please respect their investment and be polite if their quotation does not suit you. It will help you develop respect towards the practice too.

If clients wish for miracles and see results in 1-2 hours, my sessions won't be suitable for them. This is more about how Yog integrates into one's lifestyle, and slowly becomes a part of you.
